Dancer, Collaborator

Sarah Ellen Miller is a choreographer, dancer and writer with a B.A. in Creative Writing and Dance from Beloit College, based in Chicago. Over the years she has performed work by Erin Kilmurray, Joanna Furnans, Kate Corby, Ben Law, Dani Wieder, Chris Johnson, Gina T’ai, Helen Simoneau, and Erika Farkvam, among others. Sarah has been lucky enough to perform/present work at several local festivals, including the Going Dutch, Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival, Dance St. Louis, and RAD Fest, as well as the Queerly Contemporary Festival (NYC), and internationally at the World Dance Alliance (St. Johns, Newfoundland and Angers, France) and the New Prague Dance Festival. As a lover of immersive dance/theater/bar shows, Sarah has joyfully participated in The Fly Honey Show as an ensemble member and performed original work at one-night-only variety shows, such as Ordinary Peepholes at Beauty Bar. Sarah is a co-founder of Reel Movement Project, a dance film collective that facilitates collaboration between emerging movement and film artists in Chicago. Last year, Sarah had her directorial debut creating a new theater work with Dani Wieder for Prop Thtr’s Rhinoceros Theater Festival, and joined Project Bound Dance as a Company Member. Lately, she has been focusing her creative energy on several short films as a creative producer, choreographer, and performer. These films have been featured recently in Rough House’s Nasty, Brutish & Short and the Elgin Fringe Festival.
