Under the direction of Ashley Deran and Emily Loar, Project Bound Dance is a tri-focal dance collaboration aiming to foster community engagement, dance/technology experimentation, and socially conscious performance. Bound also curates a dance and film collaborative experiment known as The One Hour Project. The One Hour Project is an exercise in collaboration and concision. Using the structure of a blind date, three artists - a choreographer, a Project Bound dancer and a video artist/videographer - are given one hour to design and shoot the footage for a 60 second dance film.

Britney C. Johnson

Britney C. Johnson is a choreographer and dancer born and raised in Dallas, TX, based currently in the Philadelphia area. Never classically trained until college, her style of movement is very organic, more about the feeling of the movement than the shape itself. Her solo work, Brown Sugar Cinnamon, has been performed at Beloit College (her alma mater), Going Dutch and WIM Fest. Her main artistic question is how to take a body at rest and reintroduce it to a world of movement and creation.

The Hive Studios

The Colony - @dancecolony

The Hive - @chicagohive

The Hive Studios, and it’s competitive youth company, The Colony, are the fruits of Seth Robinson and Jeff Wolfe’s dream of offering excellent dance training to the Ravenswood community. The Hive offers weekly drop-in classes for everyone; from beginner to advanced levels for adults and children. Founded in 2019, The Colony is beginning it’s third season with a company of 26 young, enthusiastic dancers; who are eager to learn and grow as artists. These artists take weekly classes, and travel around the country to train and compete with industry professionals. Robinson, Wolfe, and their faculty strive to bring the best opportunities for their artists, and are ecstatic to watch them perform with the rest of the See Chicago Dance lineup.
